Team Waterpolo

Team Waterpolo are a band that has only been going 6 weeks and they are already seemingly far too cool for anything. However, that's because they are brilliant. Check their songs on

Advertising rant

Every so often, a new product comes on the market that I see the adverts for and just get amazed by the audacity of everyone involved. I care about such things.

Previously, the low in products for me had been Lucozade hydroactive. Alex likes the stuff but here's the thing. It is water, with the minerals that you lose when you sweat doing sports put into it. So basically, sweat being water with those minerals that you lost in the first place, Lucozade hydroactive is flavoured sweat. Yummy.

However, that product has been roundly trounced this summer by the new Nivea visage oxygen range. A beauty cream with 15% more oxygen. Is it just me, or is it wrong when a new product's unique selling point is that it has more air in it. They are charging extra for the air.

What is the world coming to?

Pretensions at photography

Having bought a digital camera to irritatingly take photos every 5 seconds of baby when he comes, I've started trying to experiment with taking more photos and get the best of the camera. These are my latest efforts. I like the psychadelicness of the self portraits, and the woman and horse are from the navy memorial on the hoe.

The Wurzels - Live in Tavistock

We went to see the Wurzels last night as part of an unofficial works do for the criminal law fraternity at Plymouth mags. Have a watch of this video from the night, excuse the poor quality.

The gig was everything that you'd expect from a Wurzels gig, they played the hits, made everyone laugh and we had a really good time. The tavy wharf is a nice intimate venue, although a little warm with it being sold out.

Blog goes mobile.

Its our anniversary today. But while alex has to go to work and try and win trials, it's wednesday so I get to wander around town. This is exciting because it means our blog is mobile. Im writing this from the city library. Woohoo!

Anyway, the car is in for a service so Im trying to find ways to do fun things in Plymouth. I have already done the record shops and bought Bruce Springsteen Live In Dublin as a joint anniversary present. Im hoping to practice taking photos with the fun fair on the hoe later. If i do any good photos, of course I'll post them.

I'm also thinking about good slogans for t-shirts. I quite like 'I've got the funk, I'm good at ker-plunk' and 'don't think of elephants'.

Bigbury Beach

Bigbury is a local beach that is about 45 minutes outside of Plymouth. It's a bit difficult to get to and they have fascist traffic wardens at the car park, but it is an amazing beach.
This is primarily because there is Burgh Island out in the middle of the beach which has a pub and a hotel and cormorants nestling in the rocky crags. The biggest effect of this is that the tide comes in from two directions and there is a Sea Tractor that carrys people to the island.
We went there last night and once the beach barbecue haze had lifted, we had a great time paddling, skimming stones and watching the sunset on South Devon.

Alex at Bigbury

I wanted to blog some pictures of alex because she is now up to 30 weeks pregnant and getting pretty big!!!

We went to bigbury beach last night (no pun intended) and I took a few photos of her there.
